In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Supervisor of Finance Analytics - Commercial Finance, and your responsibilities will involve reconciling premium invoicing and payments, working with large data sets, and developing SQL queries to analyze and resolve payment issues. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve challenges and improve processes related to commercial products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to inquiries regarding premium invoicing, addressing both internal and external queries.
- Analyze payment discrepancies (over- or under-premium) and prepare findings for review by leadership.
- Investigate member premium issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Program and execute simple to moderate SQL queries to reconcile various revenue streams (e.g., member payments, APTC payments, state credits/subsidies) to ensure accurate member account records.
- Resolve payment disputes from vendors and ensure funds are accurately applied to member accounts promptly.
- Collaborate with print vendors to create or update premium billing notifications and member notices, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with BPO vendors to facilitate programming modifications and other business needs.
- Conduct detailed analysis of refund requests and process member refunds when applicable.
- Verify internal and external broker commission payments for accuracy.
- Prepare month-end reports and journal entries to support monthly financial reporting and management needs.
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements related to premium billing, member notices, and revenue reconciliation.
- Be a trusted resource and consistently embody organizational values while fostering strong internal relationships.
- Apply LEAN principles in your work to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform any other duties necessary to ensure the success of operations.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in premium billing, membership reconciliation, or premium reporting, with experience in supporting monthly financial reporting.
- Proven experience working with large data sets and developing moderate SQL queries.
- Experience in managed care related to commercial products is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Key Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with premium billing practices in the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and general accounting theory.
- Proficiency in SQL Server query development and writing.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Word.
