We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support documentation needs for a government and public sector project. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and communication skills, the ability to work with subject matter experts, and a background in IT documentation.

Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Baltimore, Maryland (Onsite, local candidates preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write, edit, and organize technical documents including specifications and procedure manuals
• Collaborate with multiple departments to gather and clarify project requirements
• Translate technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for various audiences
• Understand IT terminology and industry standards

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• In lieu of a degree, an additional two years of technical writing experience may be considered

Experience:

• Six years of experience as a technical writer in the IT field
• Experience creating RFPs and other IT technical documents for large organizations or government entities
• Strong background in writing documentation and manuals for diverse user groups

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent written communication and attention to detail
• Ability to learn and communicate complex topics quickly
• Professional certification is a plus
• Familiarity with SQL Server, Java, APIs, cloud computing, stored procedures, and Microsoft Datacenter

Note: Writing samples will be required if selected for an interview
